So we made it and the rain held off. 20 turned up, worked hard and said they would return next Thursday. As this was the start we just felt we were testing the water, just loved everything about it and the attiude of those who came. Some had been involved in drugs and are choosing to move away from that lifestyle choice using exercise and for some faith as a way to grow. Our aim is to continue and grow the whole experience in regards of education, making in roads into work and family relationships. Breaking the cycle of destruction encouraging people to Reth

Whilst there we will be chatting about life, issues and concerns, we will of course be focusing on how you can grow and move forward with life in the most positive way possible. This Thursday Mike will be there to share his story about his use of the drug M cat and how it almost destoyed his life, come along for some inspiration, fun and to find your true purpose. Please come no matter what condition you are in, the only thing required is an I can do attitude
Hi to our wonderful friends and supporters, sadly will still seek funding, sponsorship or general donations. Why and what difference does our work make you maybe asking?
As we work with minors we can't give names and information, we did receive some brilliant feedback from three of our ex students whose lives they state have changed beyond their dreams through working with us. 1. One young lady reported she had left school with six GCSE's and had found a full time job. This was a beautiful lady who was deemed unteachable, beyond help and had no future. Her words not ours "You showed love, belief and encouraged me to believe I was worthy and had real potential. 2. Another young lady who has aspirations to go onto further education, who before we worked with her hardly attended school and hated it. She now looks to get GCSE's this year and recognizes how important her education is. Her words " I wish a secret millionaire could donate funds to you, you changed my life through your actions and encouragement" 3. Another young lady who has reconciled her relationship with her father because we showed her the value of forgiveness, she stays in education and is doing so well. We love the kids we've worked with and our lives are blessed and richer through it. Hi to everyone,
As the new term approaches after the summer break and with the unrest still in our minds Nicole and I are waiting to hear from some schools in the East Berks area regarding using our services to work with their young people. We have a tried and tested course that makes a difference and has changed the thinking and actions of young people, we speak hope and belief into their lives whilst helping them to recognise the need for rules & boundaries, respect, forgiveness, and authority. For those who have been on previous courses and made it to complete your GCSE's well done, we are so proud of you. For those who didn't get the results they needed all is not lost, don't wait for someone to come to you, go out and knock on the doors of connections and careers advisers. They are paid for this and there to help you, at 16 life doesn't end with a bad set of results, it could and should give you the inspiration to better yourself. Don't sit around feeling sorry for yourself, seek help and make a plan. If it would help contact Breakout for help Hi to everyone, our plans to run exercise and wellness sessions have been put on ice. Ash who was due to run the exercise side of things has a serious back injury and will not be able to apply his talents. We at Breakout have been deeply disturbed by the issues in England (as the rest of the UK thankfully remained peaceful) regarding riots, looting, robbery and murder. We see a real need for our services in Bracknell & Berkshire and know we have some of the answers to motivate, inspire, challenge and encourage the young people around us.
We are hindered by the local authorities withdrawing funding from youth work and in turn stopping our essential work. Although funding is an issue we make no excuses from this for the breakdown in law and order, we ALL have to work together to try and fix the social breakdown we are seeing. If you have worked with us before or have heard about the good work we do, please don't be silent. Let schools, authorities and those with available funds know so that we can deliver our services. Hi to everyone, we see some amazing stuff coming up. We are partnering with British Kickboxing Champion "Ash Stocker" to provide a high energy and radical youth event in Bracknell. I also want to say thank you to the very hard working people who helped raise funds for our work at a car boot sale and after school sale recently, we love and value you so much. We also want to declare our support for the amazing work That The Kerith are doing for young people in Bracknell at "LIFE"
Had an amazing day planning some new ideas with Ash Stocker. Ash is a British champion in MMA and teaches in Camberley. Ash like us has a heart to break young people free from poor lifestyle choices, he has a website www.ashstoker.wordpress.com and writes a regular blog. Adrian is still buzzing from the weekend he had with the guys from Reading Vineyard Church, The Alive and Dangerous weekend was so well run and proved really inspiring. Nicole and Adrian are nearly back to normal after their health issues and looking to get involved in more projects for young people.
Hi to everyone, this is Breakout and our first blog. Breakout is an organisation dedicated to helping disengaged and disaffected young people with amazing results.
Due to the current finacial issues funding for our work has ceased hence we are running events to help us to deliver our course to schools at no charge to them. This Saturday we have Elvis Presley visiting Bracknell performing to raise money for Breakout and Alzheimers research. Sadly as you would expect the tickets are all sold but there will be news of the money raised and pictures on the blog next week. So better late than never our second blog, due to serious health issues we've not been able to do any work. Nicole will be out of action for the forseable future but i am back to full strength and looking to get back into swing of things.
After Easter we will be linking back up with our schools to see how we can be involved in helping and working with the guys who are struggling. So sorry its so short but size isn't everything? |
